Transition House Based Children's Program
When there is abuse in the family, children are always affected. Some will be too quiet and others will already be exhibiting abusive traits.
We work with the children to show them that abuse is never an option. We help them to develop safety plans, identify a safe person they can go to if things "explode" at home.
We provide a brief break from the "war zone" and teach them some problem solving skills. All this happens during the time they stay at the transition house and later with Children Who Witness Abuse counselling.
And, just as importantly, we provide "fun times" and breaks from worrying about Mom and Dad.
